- Haina Monastery is one of the best-preserved and art-historical monastery complexes in Germany.
Battenhausen, a district of Haina-Kloster, is known for the Haina Monastery, which is famous for the painter Johann Heinrich Tischbein, Goethe's best friend. Tischbein painted Goethe in Tuscany between 1751 and 1829, and the picture shows Goethe sitting with a large hat. This painting is extremely well known and hardly affordable. Incidentally, Goethe's small brown and white half-timbered birthplace hangs in the K.-W. Hütte.
- The inn "Zum Hohen Lohr" in Battenhausen offers traditional cuisine from the region. It is now run by the fifth generation of the family and the chef bakes various types of bread herself. The chef conjures up à la carte dishes and is highly recommended by the locals.
